The Canes have had success with Finnish players but until recently they didn't come through the draft. Ruutu, Jokinen and Pitkanen were all trades. Judging how Finland performs in international competition, the talent pool from Finland has gotten stronger and is now a draft resource that cannot be ignored.

I've got a new Isles article going up tonight and I fully plan to increase writing frequency for both teams!

Looking back to 2010 when only seven Finnish players were taken, it's cool to see the numbers in the 20s now in less than a decade. I imagine it's only going to increase in the coming years as well.
